Future Raiders Reunions

Postby Mike Kozlowski on March 17th, 2004, 12:58 am

Dear Todd -
I am genuinely pleased to hear that there will be a reunion this year - I was fortunate enough to get into the 60th reunion in Columbia SC, and it was an experience I will treasure forever.
I realize that with advancing age, it's difficult for the Raiders to travel, but is there any possibility that they may return to Columbia again?

Best regards,

Mike Kozlowski

Mike, your guess is as good as mine on that question. I would guess that is is up to the surviving raiders to decide that and they will probably choose a location close to the majoritys home. :?

My father, David Thatcher, is one of the surviving Raiders. I visited with him about future locations while attending the Reunion this year in San Antonio. Columbia, SC made a pitch for next year's Reunion, but the Raiders who were present in San Antonio voted 4-3 for Dallas. I was told that Columbia will be considered at next year's Reunion for 2009. Dad would definitely like to go back there.

Reunions

The travel distance is a consideration as the Raiders get older. Boeing in Seattle might be a site it is close to the airport and railroad depot. There are a lot of things to see in the Museum of Flight.
