I'm just curious, how many of them made it China? how did they survive in a Japan occupied land? is there any story about those chinese who helped them? there is a museum in Nanjing city, China where we might find some untold history about American pilots flight against Japanese in China during WW2.I thinck Hollywood could made a good money if they can shoot a movie about that part.

"30 Seconds Over Tokyo" was far superior to "Pearl Harbor" - - the latter was a Hollywood mock-up of history and designed more as a 'chick-flick' with mucho romance and ficticious blather. Any similarity to actual events appeared to be only at their convenience.
Mr. Bower's post above said it best:
"...someday someone will put the real story to the screen. The stories they tell of bravery and survival are better than any screenwriter could ever make up and the fact that 63 survived a war that they all participated fully in is a remarkable feat..."

The comment on "Titanic" reminded me of my gripe against that picture: the crew were uniformly portrayed as panic-stricken, corrupt, idiots. Absolute calumny. They took a beating. The engineers, stewardesses, electricians, the sixth, first, and chief officers went down with the ship, as did the Captain. Now kids are laying roses at the grave of "J. Dawson" in the "Titanic" section of the cemetery in Halifax, thinking the body that lies there is Leonardo DiCaprio's character. Wrong again...he's a crewman who died in the water. Jack Dawson, Rose DeWitt Bukater, Ruth Bukater, Caledon Hockley, and Spicer Lovejoy are all fictional.

I can't wait to see the re-make of "Sink the Bismarck." DiCaprio will lead a bunch of American pilots in F-15s against the battleship, with a female scuba diver attaching a bomb to the ship, while Darth Vader flies after them in TIE fighters, guided by the evil British traitor.... :D
