64th Reunion

Postby Mr. SP on January 1st, 2007, 3:16 pm

The 64th reunion was held at Wright-Patterson AFB. Does anyone know which of the living Raiders attended? I think C. Neilsen was there and possibly B. Hite.

At the time of the reunion in 2006, there were 16 living Raiders. 8 of those Raiders were able to attend the event, and were joined by 3 Honorary Raiders.

Those in attendance; 1) Mr.Cole #1 2) Mr. Nielsen #6 3) Mr.Thatcher #7 4) Mr. Griffin #9 5) Mr.Horton #10

6) Mr. Kappelar #11 7) Mr. Bower #12 8) Mr. Hite #16

Honorary 1) Mr. Glines 2) Mr. Tung-sheng Liu 3) Mr. John Doolittle

This event was when the goblets were transferred from the Air Force Academy to The National Museum of the Air Force for safekeeping, and to be placed on permanent display for the public to witness them. They will always be available for all Doolittle's Tokyo Raiders reunions. In the late 50's North American aviation donated a B-25 to the Air Force museum, and the goblets are now presented in a display near the B-25, which was restored as Col. Doolittle's aircraft on the raid. How fitting this tribute is to these patriots.
