Completed training as a navigator and commissioned a Second Lieutenant at Pendleton, Oregon on December 6, 1941. Earned BA degree from Northland College, Ashland, Wisconsin and MA from Columbia University, New York, NY. Was prisoner of war of Japanese from April, 1942 until August 1945. Retired for physical disability on September 16, 1947. Decorations include Distinguished Flying Cross, Chinese Breast Order of Pao Ting. Was employed as a Management Analyst for the U.S. Army.
